While the Canon 10-22mm Lens is No Longer a Top Contender It is Still Great

January 28th 2012 -

There is no denying that the Canon 10-22mm Lens used to be a top contender back when it was first released but unfortunately, Tokina has stolen some of its thunder. It is still a great lens but personally I think you can get a lot more bang for your buck by going with the Tokina lens which is an improvement in virtually every department. If you are loyal to the Canon brand and would never even consider touching a third party product you will still love this lens however. It is constructed from very sturdy material and offers excellent optical quality, which results in sharp, clear photos. I have noticed very little to no color fringes in all the time that I have been using this lens. Even distortion is kept to a bare minimum and can be easily corrected using software. While it may no longer be the best there is in its focal range it is still a very good lens.
